Has anyone else seen this amazing machine. its 4 rotor has a very different engine sound. sounds very high pitched and i heard it creates alot of power and is bored out to 3.0L but im not sure about the numbers heres the video links

someone please explain how you bore a rotory
4 rotors would kill, Mazda ran on in I think the lamans or whatever, don't know for sure the name. but anyways I heard it killed everyone so they retired after one season, anyone else heard this?

Yeah, they were the first Japanese car manufacturer to win Le Mans (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) and finished 27.2km in front of the second position... Although I'm not sure about your reason for them retiring the next year, I'm tending to think it also had something to do with the fact that they decided not to allow rotary powered cars to race in 1992 (again, correct me if I'm wrong...) All in all... I want a 26B :iceslolan Those 4 rotors would come in real handy

yea I'm not 100% sure on all my info as well, just heard about it from someone before and thought I'd bring it up, talk about an expensive engine, I bet that one takes the cake

Those videos are just of the 4-Rotor LeMans motor. I want to see proof that the shop mentioned ACTUALLY built the motor.
It's not really possible to increase the displacement on a rotary just by porting it.
Mazda increases displacement, for example going from the 12A to 13B, by incraesing the WIDTH of the rotor.
Porting just allows the motor to ingest more and, and expel more exhaust gas.

Although this would be totally custom....don't you think you could take a slight amount of the chrome off of the inside of the rotor housings, then get it rechromed and get some oversized rotors. That would increase displacement while keeping the same width. Again, i'm not suggesting that THAT is what was done, just wondered if it would be possible. Although now that i think about it, there's not much room there until you hit the coolant ports in some spots. But it would be interesting to find out. If somebody has the money to run in Le Mans, i'm sure they'd have some money for some kick a** engine too

Exactly, even IF they increased the rotor width, they would need to make new aluminum rotor housings. Which I'm pretty sure would violate some patent laws in some way.

LeMans cars are made by manufacturers, not just rich people with racecars. So the 4-Rotor engine was a product of Mazda. I don't know who decided "Scoot" suddenly was a creator of rotary engines.
BTW, that's a cool idea MazdaB1300.....not too many of those running around.

Well i wasn't saying that LeMans was for rich "people." I know it's a manufacturers race and when i said "somebody," mazda is a somebody aren't they. well maybe not.....anyways i'm sure mazda has plenty of money and obviously had to make a custom E-shaft for a 4 rotor in the 787B so they could probably make housings and rotors for it too, but i still don't know if it was 3.0L or not

2.6 liters actually, a 26B. By the 4-stroke method a monstrous 5.2 liters. :D
I dont know where this 3.0 liter thing came from. Crazy kids.
