has anyone ever thought of how cool it would be if honda came out with an affordable, 6 or 8 cylinder vtec that could fit into an rsx or si or something that was tuned for speed, sort of like a japanese muscle car

Not gonna happen. I've never even seen someone try to fit an Accord V6 into a civic, much less a V8. And even if Honda did decide to make a V6 or V8(!) civic, I seriously don't think its gonna be affordable.

uhm...last i checked, the accords were "affordable" and they came w/ a VTEC V6 motor.

the nsx is planning to be released w/ a V8 in the coming years (yes i know its not affordable, but still).

the 3.2TL's come w/ the V6 as well. there are many cars out there w/ bigger than lil 4 bangers, they jus aren't as readily modified as the smaller motors.

Yeah, the Accords aren't bad. I was saying if honda came out with a factory V6 or V8 civic, but now that I think about it, it probably wouldn't be too much more than the current prices. No Red Bull last night, sorry.
Any word on what the V8 NSX will have for numbers? I can't wait to see this.....

Ok lets say you got a V8 in a honda. Now how are you going to keep all that torque from twisting the whole car like a twisty bread stick? Hondas are unibody and "basically" have no frame, so ythe motor would rip mounts out and twist the body etc. The only way it would work is if you spent tons of money on reinforcing everything etc and by then you could have built a mean turbo LS or something and be fast enough!

i am going to put it in perspective, the reason they only put the S2000 as a 2.0 liter is because if the pistons, and cranckshaft were any bigger than it would not be able to rev. to the amazing (vtec street reliable) 8k or 9k

now i am not saying that Honda isnt capable of doing it just that it wouldnt be worth it to them cause the engine has to be perfictly balanced to rev like that and get your $ worth out of the vtec.
that is probably why the NSX is only a six...
