Hi,
Today I bought a 88' Civic Hatch STD model.
Its the bare bones model but is supposed the be the lightest by far.
It has cold A/C but the car definetly needs cosmetic work.
It needs a new paintjob but there are no evident dents or rust on it. Just faded paint from the Florida sun.
The seats are in pretty bad shape, but im planning on either SI or racing seats.
The carpet is all gone on the floor.
The good thing about the car is it runs real good and shifts good.
Its only the 4 speed but that can always be changed as I have read.
I read the badging on the engine and it said D15B1 which i guess is the real shitty engine with like 70 hp.
He was asking 800 for the car and I talked him down to $700.
It has 136k original miles also.
My first mod is to get is to do a MPFI swap on it. My question is how much hp will an MPFI swap add to a STD hatch?
Next I wanna get a paintjob, then new carpeting.
This is my ultimate project car so in the meantime I will be driving my 4g4D. I will have pics up as soon as I get my digital camera working.

Mpfi will add about 35 or so to the crank if done properly.

If I were you Id forget about the mpfi swap and save up for another engine. I by no means have much money, but still id try to save if it was my car. :2cents:

d15 blocks are created equal (with the exception of the HF's dome tops with 2 valve reliefs)..
MPFI on a d15b1 would be about 100-105hp... the same as if you were to get a d15b7
