guys, what if you had to sell your baby, your love, your vr4.
well, i might have to sell mine, i can't afford to pay for the insurance
$373 a month. i was in a accident were my friend was holding on to my car on his bike and flipped and hit his head on the ground. he was in critical condition for 3 days. though my car didn't touch him, i let him do it so it was my fault. so, i'm going to school next quarter and my job is a $800 a month job were if i tried to pay insurance i'd be paying $700 a month everything included.
should i try to keep it by working for that car and that car only, or sell it.

I am glad to hear that your friend is going to be ok. Its the chances he took by doing such a crazy act.

Perhaps you can just store the car away until next summer when you might be able to get cheaper insurance. I know I'm selling my 94 but I've got the Spyder so I'm not going to be short one of these great cars.

awww dude thats horrible...try asking your insurance company if there is anything you can do to bring the cost down. my dad got a ticket and took defensive driving but im not sure if that would work in your state or with that type of accident. also you might ask your friend to pick up what the insurance agency added to it, seeing as it was he who did the crazy act. but he is your friend and im not sure you wanna try that. just a few ideas to help you out....good luck and let us know what happens

Sell it, find an owner that will take good care of it! as the years progress, u will be spending more and more on it, u will get more mods , go faster and do more interesting things wich could makeyour insurance company drop you and then what, what if u wanna start a family u will be driving around in that minivan with no insurance, hope this doesnt sound to bleek, its just a possibility.

that is a very very sad case man! i would not wish that upon u! however should u have to sell it, i might be interested in ur car. or, u might could like sell it to someone cool who will take realy good care of it, and then when u can afford it, buy it back from 'em... its a thought...kinda like a they help u out, u help them out.(id take good care of it!:) lol) but yeh... hopefully u wont have to sell it at all.

keep the car dude. :iceslolan but if selling it is the only option...what you could do is like sell it to a person you trust well enough to take care of the car like the way you took care of it. then get another car thats affordable for you. and when you can afford the car again (vr4)...buy the car back from the person you sold it to. hope this helps. glad to hear your friend is ok though. :smokin:

Dude been there still paying. I pay close to $800 a month. Thats what happens when you run from the cops. NO NO!! :dupe: Got away but the cop knew me from the street races but came to my house later. Spent 30 days in jail. and had to pay $3000, just to get my car back from inpound. I am on SR-22, also on probahion, for one year. So know were you sit, I could not give up my car, and I will not. I would work 24hrs. day, 7 days a week before I said good-bye to my BABY!!!
Please let me know what you deside on. SORRY! :banghead:

well guys im keeping it, i'm just gonna put all my money into it and go to school. i thought why not spend 4 hours a day sitting down talking on the phone asking people if they want the paper, just to keep my vr4.
plus financial aid might give me more money than i need and i can put that towards my car, plus tax returns is coming up really soon.

I, for one, am glad to hear you're keeping the car. I hope everything works out so the financial burden gets easier and easier.

Wait, you're going to spend $373 a month (for insurance) just to keep the VR4? What happens if you get another ticket or something goes wrong with the car? What money will you use to get her fixed? I'm glad you love the car but don't be foolish my friend. These cars will ALWAYS be around. Sell the car, work your ass off and in two years buy an awesome 3rd gen VR4. You don't always have to be Mr. Cool.
