well 5.0s are amazing motors as far as getting power out of them. With turbo S/C all motor any of them can go over 500hp. If you want there bigger motors and even crazier things you can do like run nitro meth huge spray. Hope this helps

I think anything over 500hp and the stock bottom end will start to fail.

450 at the crank is about all the block(std) will take, and that better not be with nitrous. An A4 or R302 (4 bolt mains, etc) will take far more, but I've split two stock blocks myself.351Ws don't have this problem, but 302s have VERY thin main bearing support bulkheads that crack under big loads.Nothing can fix this problem, although a main girdle helps.

I agree with the 450 bhp cracking the block. With a turbo/fmic pushing 7 psi you should see about 350 net hp @ 4000 on an otherwise stock engine. Ofcourse, turbo and fuel management upgrades would be required. Best of all you should expect about 500 lb-ft @ 3000 or so. Don't listen to that LS1 crap either; force fed Ford small blocks most often beat forced induction chevy's. LS1 powered f-bodies run 13s off the show room floor. I have heard of 9.XXX second turbo Mustangs on the stock bottom end; it can be done for about $5K.

I think that's another victim to the sig count? I'd like to see a stock block 302 make more than one 9 second run.

A excuse me, you can come to gateway speedway in Illinois. I see fox bodies run 10s,11, and low 12s all night. I think Ive only seen one run 9s but he definitly did it more than once. I have yet seen a camaro run 12 anything 13s sure all night but no 12s. :loser:

It's all an on going joke. Guess you would have had to been here a while to know that, so it's ok.
Anyway, a properly built 9 sec car should be able to run the 1/4 more then once. But if you are using a stock bottom end, than that's disaster waiting to happen, and will get only one run out of the car before the motor grenades.

It wasn't offensive or rude. I found it rather funny, but just actually had no point and didn't belong in this forum. kinda sounded like a two year old wrote it.
