93 explorer Overdrive

I have a 1993 explorer, friday last week the tranny would not shift into OD. I took it to the ford shop, but all they want to do is tear it apart. They couldn't tell me what are the possibilities of what is wrong! does anybody have any ideas???????

i would suggest having the transmission flushed, and see if that helps

You need to have the shifting points adjusted. Also, it may be a failing cylinder or band inside the transmission. I would suggest a flush n' fill, along with a new filter, for the transmission. Look for evidence of mechanical damage in the pan.... dust is ok, bits and chunks are not.
