So, LT1's come with less horses and torque than the LS1's but would you suggest to buy a LS1 for 5 grand more or just mod a LT1, cause 265 horses is nice but i need MORE :) plus the LT1's have more options than the LS1's

Each car will do the job... for at least a few more years the LT1s will be cheaper to mod than the LS1s. But it's up to you.. each car will be fast no matter what.

So stop asking us what we think, just out and buy a damn Camaro/Firebird already.

Also according to the following site

http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Midfield/7269/vs.html

the 93 z28's still did 0-60 in mid 5's and the 96 z28/ss did it in about 5, and a quarter mile between ranged between 13.5 and 14.5 for em both, so wouldnt it be easier to spend all that extra money on mods for a 93 LT1

Sorta... but depending on where you live, you could get more power out of a mid year '95+ LT1 car due to its dual exhaust.

But if your state doesn't care about emissions... feel free to put in your own super free flowing exhaust on a older Z.

I find a lot of LT1 equipped Camaro's with comparable miles with LS1 Camaros in similar price ranges here in Southern California.. So just look around.

Camaros don't have dual exhaust, they haven't since the 80's. They run a 2-1-2 type configuration. i think an Impala SS has true dual exhaust, and a corvette probably has it as well but I don't know for certain.

the 93 Camaro Z28 runs more like 14.9 (versus 94 GT which ran a 14.8! BLAH!)

As much as I hate to admit it a 93Z28 def should run a low 14. If you saw one that didn't they had a really bad driver.

Uhmm, they do have dual exhaust just not a true dual setup cause of the Y-pipe. That can be taken care of though. Theres places that can turn it into TRUE duals and sounds damn right mean and friggin badass

Also Dual/Dual exhaust on a 4th Gen F-body looks :worshippy

LS1's dyno about 40 rwhp more on the average. A good set of Heads/cam can easily take care of that, but you need to find someone that will illegally smog it for you. If you buy an LS1 try to buy a 2001-2002, as they dyno about 10 rwhp higher then the 98-00 models, due to the Z06 intake manifold in large part. I've heard that the LT1's are ALOT harder to work on then the LS1's (Especially for a spark plug change). In addition the LT1's are not as reliable. If you just want a project car for racing, buy the LT1. If you want a car to drive regularly, and race on the weekend, then buy the LS1. If you want a car to go to the grocery store, buy a Mustang J/K
