I am just about to install a set of edelbrock rpm heads, with crane roller rockers. how do i set the valve lash on the roller rocker?
I tryed it once on the old heads and bent some rods. This is for a 350 in a 72 chevelle.

Ok man do you have a chiltons book? Use it wisely. Set the roller the same way you would a hydraulic but, i say but, when you come to zero lash only turn a 1/4 of a turn tight after 0 lash. When you do your lash preliminaries you have to have the engine of TDC run through the valves requested by your book and then youll have to spin the motor(by hand 180 degrees and finish your prelims. Make sure you mark the valves you do with a grease pen or something so you can keep track. Go over the preliminaries a few times to make sure. The chiltons or haynes manual will describe this well. When you get to the running adjustment if you have to a small block valve lash is different than a big block. you will start on your valve and if it is chattering turn it loose till you hear it chatter then bring it to zero lash(the point when it gets quiet) check this a few times for the lifters need to pump up. When you come to the conclusion of zero lash only tighten the nut a 1/4 turn tight. then hold the nut in place with your 5/8 wrench and lock the posi lock down. Make sure the posi locks are as tight as you can get them. If they come loose bad things can happen. It is just something you have to practice with. if you need more help just ask...
