'92 H22A wont rev past 3500RPM...?

All of a sudden my motor wont rev past 3500rpm. i tryed turning it off then back on and that fixed it but after a couple times of doing that it doesnt work anymore. i have a intake, exhaust and aem fuel rail. Also whenever i shift it backfires, im thinking my car is getting to much fuel and the computer wont let it go past 3500rpm anymore. Also i dont have that little black box that sits under the intake manifold hookd up, the one that creates vacuum and opens up the secondaries. what do u guys think i should try? It was running fine before i turned it on this morning.

have you tried resetting your ecu?

i reset it today and started it back up for 10min and it still sounded like it wasnt running right. didnt have a chance to drive it around. I cannot think of why its doing this. i can get a new wire set and hook up the egr stuff but it should work without out it .

ill try getting a new fuel filter and replacing the distributor rotor cause it was squeling and i never had a chance to change it out.

try changing the spark plugs and wires. if the spark plug tips are black the car's running to rich. could also have something to do with the o2 sensor.

also does your engine shake alot

Hey man i got the same problem with my 97 prelude. Ive changed the spark plugs cause one of them was black and all the other ones were grey on the tip. Ive talked to a one guy he said that my senconsd fuelinjector is stuck open and it lets the gas go out none stop. and the reason that i kind of belive him is because inside the car it stinks like fuel. so im thinking it floods that spark plug. so ur only running on like 3 cylinders.
