i would say b16 cable tranny would be best, because the gsr is a hydro tranny and you would have to buy the conversion kit. i dont think that the gsr had an lsd, i know some b16s did and so did the itr. but overall i think the b16 is shorter gear, because my brother has a b16 tranny with his ls hatch and the shorter gearing has helped him beat other ls 4thgens.

I'm pretty sure the GSR doesn't have LSD.
If we're talking cable type transmissions, I would go with the 1st generation GSR transmission (no LSD, but type-r gearing)... I think it's the YS1?
For hydro tranny I'd go for the type-r transmission.

oh ya my b18 will be turbocharged once i put it in at the end of the winter. and i expect to be making around 280-320hp and 190-230 Torque i know it sounds like a lot but i have invested a lot so far so ya... is there a stonger tranny out there that is after market maybe?... and i looked on Hmotorsonline.com and they had a lsd option with their GSR swaps so they must have come with LSD.

I believe that the Si's are geared shorter that the GSR's. One is not going to be stronger than the other. The Si is a hydro tranny as well as any of the 94+ Integra trannies. The 90-93 Integras are cable. Both the 90-93 LS and 92-93 GSR transmissions have the YS1 label. There is no way to visually tell the difference either. You will have to open it up and count the final drive in order to be sure.
GSR's did not have a factory lsd.

so...no tranny is stronger than the other...well what would you recommend then for a turbocharged b18?

I'd go with an LS tranny with an aftermarket (or ITR) LSD. The gearing would be much better for a boosted motor than a GSR. And just to clarify, no, the GSR did not come with an LSD (in the US, I'm not sure about JDM). Only the Type R did.

JDM GSR trannys had an LSD. USDM = No.
Best tranny fo' you? Probably a YS1 with LSD. Cable is your friend. LSD is our friend.

why would cable be my friend? how hard is it to change over to hydro?

I don't even know.. It would probably be mucho hard to change over to hydro. I don't even think I've seen it done. You can buy a hydro to cable conversion kit from hasport.com, but you have to use their mounts too, and I think its pretty expensive.
And an LS tranny is not what you'll be needing. If you're boosting a small amount of boost (less than 10psi) or so, you're not really making so much power that you want longer gearing.. You'll still want pretty quick gears I'd think. If you had a 600hp monster it might be a different story, but I'd still opt for shorter gears.

If you're going to be running huge boost I'd recommend a Quaife over Kaaz.
Kaaz has a break in period, Quaife doesn't. Kaaze has little clutch disks that wear and need to be replaced, Quaife doesn't. Quaife has a liftime warantee if it breaks, Kaaz doesn't. ;)

I'd recommend a Quaife over Kaaz.
Ditto!
You also have to change the tranny fluid every so often with Kaaz. I hear that it is just a PITA to deal with.

Certin lsd's are compatible with certain trannies, but yea you can take it out and use it in another tranny.
