ah, it was no biggie. we just sat it on his head and took the pic. beleive me, my cats have done worse things to themselves. you should see the video of my one getting it's head stuck in a catnip jar. running around with it on there. i kept taking it off and he kept sticking it back in.

Yeah, whiskers are really nerves for feeling. So it would feel about like cutting off your finger, or at least deep enough to cut a nerve in your finger

Groomers actually trim their whiskers for cat/dog shows..

They also crop ears, remove dew claws and dock tails, does that make it right?

Did you know in a lot of countries in the World this practice is now banned.

If it hasn't been banned from the U.S. dog shows, than obviously they don't see a big deal with trimming the animals whiskers. You can safely trim them as long as you do not cut too far down the whisker where the sensory nerves lay towards the ends, as with trimming their nails which is dangerous if you are not properly trained.

Current law states that animals are property (although many people are fighting to have this change so in law suits pain and suffering can be claimed for the animal) so the owners can have their whiskers trimmed as long as it hasn't been deemed painful to the animal resulting in abuse claims.

Is this right? Most people will say its not hurting the animal, having worked in a grooming salon I can tell you by the way the animals react they are not being harmed by a professional trimming their whiskers.

Steel - get a laserpointer. They are awesome fun. Move it just in front of the cat for about 5 mins and then put it on their chest. They get up on two paws. Absolute riot.

yeah, i have a vid of my cat. i got the laser pointer on the wall above my bed. the cat comes tearing ass across the room, up onto the bed and attacks the laser point on the wall. good stuff.

There was this commercial on for a Nokia cell-phone/vid camera (i think) where these guys attached a toy mouse to a string and tied it to a ceiling fan. Their cat walks in and sees it and jumps up to grab it. It's claws get caught and it spins around a few times then let goes and just flys into the wall. Try looking for it on kazaa, it is really hillarious.
