bogs out engine light comes on

hi i have a 1992 eagle talon non turbo when it sits running or when i put it in drive and go my engine light comes on and it bogs out ,no power i have to rev it up to turn off the engine light and then i have power back but does not last long as long as i am driving my car it does this please does someone know what could be causing this
