Well i've decided to make a progress thread for this hot pink mopar! So here is what many of you saw in the "poll" thread:
Hi guys I was getting tired of the RX7 so I decided to start another project while i finish up the FD. This use to be my brothers model, but he gave it to me to finish so, I tore down the engine and interior and have repainted/ refurbished everything! My brother didn't even touch the exterior and most pieces were still on trees! My plan is to have it a white interior, with a bright hot pink pearl exterior, lowered a lot, two long exhaust pipes out the back! So what do you think?

Well i did repaint the engine from waht my brother had (blue) so i did it the appropriate chrysler engine red, i then flat black washed it to have the details stand out. I didn't paint the tranny aluminum because i want to replicate what some aftermarket parts buyers do by matching the transmission with the engine. But i am thinking of giving the oil pan a coat of silverchrome.
Silver82x- thanks for the link thats pretty cool, i haven't seen those cars before!
PS: more progress tonight!

Well here is some more progress. Last weekend i added 2 coats of pearl over the pink and you can see it real nice in these pics. Its soooo close to being done! This is mostly what it will look like when finished now.
Notice the following: hydraulic coiled brake lines, the smooth finish on the paint, the three are intakes (scratch built), all the bare metal foil!
Hope you like it! I can get more pics if you like!

Nice, that is the 69 Superbee isn't it?
Sometimes I look at mine next to the Superbird and think about turning it into a Limelight green drag car with a twin blown 426 Hemi. But then I blink....

Those velocity stacks look like those brass things used for electricity. I forget what their called, but one side is larger then the other (like it got 'smooshed'; the inlet is a tad bigger). TYhey also make good exhaust tips.

alright its about 97% complete!!! so everything is done except clear coating the hood, putting on the front bumper (fitment problems), and putting the door handles back on (removed them so i didn't loose detail in painting). So this is the cars state right now! So what does everyone think??
ps: its hard to capture the color of this car, you can see it the best in the third picture of the motor

Don't clear the flat black hood, just throw some pins on it. Very well executed.

Yep it looks nice! I used 2 rubber bands on my front bumper to get it to stay on, if you need some help just ask me I can explain how to get it on, it can be bitchy.
Yep, don't spray the hood, the mean mopars with black hoods were satin black or flat black, not gloss or shiny :)

Mary Kay's Evil twin! LOL That pink is a close match for Panther Pink used by Chrysler back then, the pearl really stands out nice. Gonna take some pictures of it out in the sun soon? Great job!

Thank you kindly everyone! I will be coating the hood but with dull coat to cover up the six pack sticker edges. And after reattaching the handles and attaching the front bumper i will get some nice sun picks!
Thanks - Justin
