I am looking to purchase a 1994 VR4 from a private party. Once I take it for a test drive, I would like to have a mechanic inspect it. Is there a suggested checklist for inspection that I can give the mechanic? Also, any idea on what this should cost (either hours or $$).
Thanks

As it so happens I’m selling my 94 VR4.
Anyway, some of the obvious stuff you want to look at is if there is any leakage under the car. Look at the engine bay and just get a feel for its overall condition. The biggest hassle in these cars is the transmission. See that it shifts smoothly and revs all the way to the redline. Check the fluids, all the buttons and knobs.
Have the mechanic get under the car and check the exhaust and the steerage. Look for uneven wear on the tires (alignment).
Enjoy your new purchase.

Love your wheels on the white 3000GT. Are they stock, or aftermarket? Where can I get a set at a reasonable price?

Those are the stock 94 VR4 and 95-96 spyder wheels. I have a set for sale, but they are in bad need of rechroming. Make an offer if you want them.

Any idea of the cost, and preferred shop, for rechroming?

The chromies do look great on the pearl white cars.
You can get wheels rechromed at http://www.calchrome.com stop in the site for pricing for the work.

that site says starts at 125 per wheel. So your looking at 500 for chroming.

Is this a fair price? I don't have any experience in this type of service.

It seems like a good price, and you will probably get a better than original chrome finish.
