whats up with slammed89civic??

a few months ago i agreed to buy a si tranny, ecu, and dizzy from slammed89civic for $190 a left headlight and corner light. i sent him the package, and then once he got it i had a hard time finding him, still to this day i havent gotten anything from him not a word. he pretty much threw off my whole swap i was planning because he pocketed the money i had saved. i was just wondering what you all know about him, or if others have been burned by him. whats the deal with this kid... :nono:

he works/Djs so he probly hasnt had time to get to it, hit him on aim late night, i talked to him a few weeks back an i guess he went through a Bad break up with his GF

i got my alarm off of him...no problems with that

its been like a half a year.... maybe he will post in this thread and we can get every thing straight

It is very difficult to buy things in a forum. You never know who you are dealing with and you don't know the quality of the parts. In stead of banning a person there should be a way to rate a person who sells something in the forum.
Now a person sould atleast contact you and tell you what is going on when they have not shipped your part. A six month delay and the payment has already been made that is unacceptable. There is nothing that should keep you from sending a part for six months. Anyway, let the guy try and defend him self, though it is impossible to defend the six month delay.

I know that there is some way to give someone reputation points, and I have seen that I have a few, but unless everyone was consistent at it, it would mean nothing... I wonder how hard it would be to start making that a standard procedure around here, It would prolly help out a bunch for someone to look at what another person has done to/for them. There would prolly only be one person on here that got screwed by this dude.

The safest way for us to buy and sell will probaly be the following options:

1. C.O.D. (Cash on Delevery) Avaliable at ups, fedex, mail boxes etc., ups store.

2. Use escrow www.escrow.com ? Basically both parties open an account and they send the money to the escrow company and they hold it till the seller sends the product and verifies its what he wants and then the seller gets the money from the excrow site.

3. Use paypal. Pay by credit card and then if one runs away with ones money Protest non-delivery with the credit card company so you wont be charged.

Sorry Guys about that i wish i could help. If you have the guys email file a report wil the Internet Fraud Complaint Center. www.ifcc.com or you could always try dispute resolution like the do in ebay. Go to www.squaretrade.com fill out a form and see what happens they are all free.

sounds great Problem_Si but there are too many members to keep track of. you always take your chances when buying from a forum. before you should buy something you should do some searching to see if anybody else had troubles with the seller. in this case there had been a couple of previous threads about deals gone wrong with him. i :dunno: what to say. i guess rock on to 4GZChatch for getting the 411. i don't think audi would like to know it's online but....i guess thats what he gets for not showing up in this thread.

id suggest we set up a kinda of ebay feedback rating on the boards for people, or just set the deals up through ebay, you can have private auctions there where only the person buying can bid on it, that way you are protected in case the part is never sent, you cans till get your money back.

we've tried the "who's been burned" sticky before. it just turning into a big shit slinging match of A's word vs. B's word.

thats a good idea but hard to maintain. you know how many people join and leave af? i have a member's list at my site with the sn from here. that is hard enough to keep up. someone asks to be added to the list then either never posts again or shows up once every couple of months.

and how are we to know who's good and who's bad? there have been people who had good transactions with audi. just seems recently he's burned some people. who's to say because someone had a good transaction once, they'll have it again? ya know?

im friends with adam (efstali) an he's the one that got ripped off on those coilovers for 120.00 so maybe its time to call.
