Aftermarket Shocks

I'm converting my '88 4-banger Mustang to a 5.0. I have just about all the parts I need. In fact, I have a complete 5.0 rust-bucket donor car. I'm about to install a 3.55 rear-end from a Turbo Coupe, and I'm using new Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks ($33 Cdn each). I'm thinking about getting Lakewoods or similar in the spring, but my question is, will it be worth it? With a stock engine (for now) will I notice any improvement in the handling, particularly the hook-up? Does anyone have any experience, good or otherwise, with strip/street shocks? I plan to go to the strip once in a while next year, for kicks.
Thanks!
Thanks!

my car came with some kind of house brand called monroe shocks. they needed to be replaced and when i heard sideways by e-40, i knew what to get.
"The po-po's came then they closed up shop (kick it)
Smashed through the Hood and we made that hot (yah)
See the shit don't stop (stop) motherfckuers pop (pop)
Seven-deuce drop (drop) wit Koni air shocks (mmhmm)
Riding through the shit like Racer X"
so much less body roll, everything just felt stiffer, the seat, the steering wheel, the pedals. that's just me.

I have lakewood 70/30's up front and 50/50's out back. I like them, good for the price. They do what they are designed to do and help get the job done. Now if you are looking for comfort, then you might not want to get these. They tend to make the car float side to side at higher speeds and over bumps. There's no question though, that you will feel the front pop up and rear squat in a hard launch.
