dude that is a way dumb ? Do the math the 92-95 dx is way heavier than the rex and the rex has more HP. So you can answer this ? on your own. This is if you comparing the cars different drivers can have a big effect on the out come.

your asking a question that has no definete answer, so theres no reason to get pissy and call names.

There are way too many things that can influence a race, such as drivers, weight, etc. These type of questions will never have an answer cause you never know what will happen during the race, maybe one of you will misshift maybe not.

Hey, I got a good story for this thread, actually two good stories. It's actually two different races. Ok laugh at this one. Me and my boy Ray(aka "Masta" on this forum) bought a CRX Si for 700 dollars. We split the cost down the middle. I took the engine and the dash for 350, and Ray took the Skunk2 coilovers, and Si interior pieces like door panels and the rear hatch panels that say "Si". But anyway, this car got into an accident so it looked like shit, but the motor was strong as hell with barely over 100k on it (low for a 91 crx si). It had a heavily damaged rear quarter panel, a SMASHED windshield, two tires with low air, one missing corner light, a smashed up front bumper, and a hood with so many dents in it and it couldn't even close; it had to be tied down with rope! But anyway, fresh from just taking it from the guy that we bought it from, I raced my boy with an integra. Granted it was automatic, but I still whooped him. I even had another person in the car with me! It was so funny because I beat him with this piece of shit and the hood was floppin up and down in the wind. He said he "missed a gear" but BULLSHIT! It's an automatic. Anyway I was surprised at how well the stock Si motor pulled. I unsurprisingly *chirped* first to second but I also *chirped* second to third! I was like ohh shit! Then like 3 days later, I was taking the crx si up to the junkyard where we were going to strip it of everything including the motor and to have the frame crushed (because the frame was bent). Anyway, My boy went with me and he has a 92 civic DX hatchback with about 80k on it with full expensive catback exhaust, with a hi-flow cat and an intake. I didn't just beat him, I whooped him! For everyone who wonders why an si is so quick, it's not the motor because whoopty doo, 108 horsepower is nothing...it has more to do with the transmission in my opinion than anything because the si tranny pulls you through the gears ALOT quicker with the longer final drive. For anyone doing a D-series motor swap, I suggest you pick up an Si tranny with it...because it's SOOO worth it.

When I owned my 88 Crx Si, (headers, dynomax catback exhaust, intake) I raced a 95 hb, he beat me, but I have no idea what was done to it other than exhuast and maybe a better engine...

wow, that's surprising...the only reason why he would've beat u is if he had an Si...then he definitely would've beat on you with his 125HP and vtec or he probably had a motor swap...there's alot of civics around here that look completely stock other than an exhaust but have LSvtec or b16 and b18 swaps...personally I think that's the way to go if ur into racing. Remember, you don't have to have a body kit or aluminum spoiler or decals to have a fast car...all that matters is whats under the hood!

hey 90civicracer, I was wondering why you did a SOHC ZC swap since it is the JDM version of the D16A6 you already had in your EX? I believe they are rated at the same HP and TQ...

The ZC has 120ps=118 or so hp I think.

The d16a6 in my EX died on me and it was cheaper to replace with a SOHC ZC than the d16a6 and since they are the same thats what I got. I wanted to get a different engine but i didnt have any money and this is what my parents put in.

Hey its cool, i get asked that quite a bit actually because people are always wondering the same thing...why did i swap one engine for the same one basically. And about the whole thing about it having 118hp i am a non-believer on this number because this engine feels about the exact same except is a lil smoother since there are a hell of a lot less miles on this engine compared to the one that my old engine had.

Hey...now you can call your car a "JDM" civic since you have a true JDM motor! hehe...

i beat so many dx's when i had the stock head on, Dx's are just slow..I beat plenty of 2gen integras too,lol..and about two 3 gen.integras on the highway..Stock si's fucking run..

Like dude said its the trans..the Si has like a 4.25 final drive which is awesome for quick accel. I even beat a 95 Si. Remember the Si weighs about 300lbs-400lbs more than a 88-89 CRX Si. Like for example a 400hp old skool camaro with 2.73ring and pinnon gears will be slower than the same model camaro with say 330hp and 4.10 ring and pinnion gears. Final drives are ver important in drag racing and many newbie forget about final drives
