there is no reason to build a rear-engine, front-wheel drive car
car manufacturers make front engine, front wheel drive cars to save cost, since it doesn't need a driveshaft to send the power to the rear.

There are many advantages to FWD for daily drivers, they're better on gas, lighter, and handle better in the snow and ice...
Having a rear engined front wheel drive car would mean that it wouldn't get any better mileage, would be just as heavy as a front engine rear drive car, and would have a really nasty weight balance.
It's a really bad idea :grinno:

This car would be a very stupid vehicle. The perfornance aspect of the car is nill. I mean weight transfer durring acceleration would make it do 0-60 im like a minute. And under braking it would not turn worth shit. The front wouldent get enough weight to make it around a corner so it would just plow into a wall. Around cornors you would loose the rear end alot.
I dont think this will ever be made but it would be intresting to see
