bring back the fiero

gm should bring back the fiero. chevy is going to replace the cavalier with the cobalt in 2005 (the pontiac sunfire has the same chassis as the cavalier, so a new fiero could replace the sunfire). it could use the ecotec engine from the sunfire (midmounted, of course). the only bad thing is that pontiac would probably make a new fiero look just like a grand am, and not have the awesome looks of the original (just like what they did with the new gto). a new fiero could also compete with those fast-and-the-furious style japanese sport compact cars. what do u guys think?

p.s. everybody please write letters to pontiac, and tell them to bring back the fiero!

THat would be a great idea, BUT reality saiys that the Fiero is Dead for ever.

But a Fiero with a 3.6L DOHC producing 240HP and 270lbs of tq would be downright a SuperFine Car. Keeping the Poly Body and an all Aluminum Super Space Frame. Hummpph Just think about the possiblity of such a car.

Yeah hate to say it, but the fiero doesn't look like it will make a come back, untill GM actually starts making fun cars again, not saying the CTS or the vette aren't but a rear mid mount car like the fiero with all the new off the shelf stuff that GM could slap on it would make it sell as fast as free beer.

I wouldn't want them to bring it back.. it was so damn close to vette performance when they were making it. They had the turbo idea dropped it and last I heard they actually talked of a V8, but the vette guys bitched.

Worse comes to worst just buy a fiero and mod the crap out of it :wink: I'm sitting roughly 280-300 at the wheels and the joy of shocking people is just too funny. Got the notchback and everyone thinks I have a 4 cylinder and stuck formula stickers on the side, granted with the 3800sc it is quieter then the 2.8.
