This is the latest project, the body kit is very simular to the JS Racing one. and the colour scheme is as the amuse S2000 being Honda Imola Orange which is a Limited Edition Colour for the S2000

Looks great. I love the paint job. Keep us posted on the build.

I didn't know that there was such thing as Imola Orange. I knew that BMW had Imola Red though.

That's an absolutely drop dead georgeous color scheme :eek7: How do you keep coming up with these cool models!!!

I'd be interested to know where you source the orange too. Up until now I've been using Tamiya sprays but I now have an airbrush so the worlds my oyster when it come to paint now :naughty: :naughty:

Thanks Guys
The paint is mixed by Halfords, and airbrushed, but it's expensive, you need a primer, a special base coat (mustard colour) then the pearl top coat then clear coat.
The Base coat and top coat piant cost me 16 pounds (but there is enought to do 4 cars)
On the real S2000 this paint is an extra 750 pounds (US$1250) over the standard metallic paint cost.
Not sure about a wing yet, depends on my mood.

WOW Steve nice Job !! The Hood is cool , you make it by your own or buy it ??? The Color mix is great i think the money you spend on the paint was it worth ! Are you planing to make the hood and trunk in CF ??
And also cool wheels !

I would leave the wing , it looks a little bit to much **** !!

Sorry Steve maybe it was the wrong word for it but from some angle the white S2K look better with the wing like the Orange (original Pic) i think at he orange one every airplane would be JEALOUS at this WING .

I also like some Streetracing style . So i think it was just the worng word , so don't take it serious !

me too, can we get a word eraser thing that replaces rice or ricer with **** like on the lexus owners club website, it removes swearwords etc.
im totaly fed up of people using that word as a derogatry term. just say jdm style ok!

i love this car, the s2000 is such a cool car, and that hood is great.
gotta love halfords new paint mixing people. providing us here with thousands and thousands of colours from ferrari - lamborgini - skoda!

Hehe...I don't dislike the term. I think the term "rice" is a great one ...when used appropriately. There's a line between Japanese Styling and rice...knowing where to draw the line is the key.

Hiro's S2000 stops waaaay short of rice territory ...rice is HKS and Blitz stickers on a Metro or Escort with neon washer jets and a dummy air scoop glued on the hood. Rice is Japanese tuning/styling done by someone who just doesn't understand what it's all about. :screwy: As a derogatory term, "rice" is most appropriate for that kind of vehicle. Unfortunately I think it's become a more generalised term for a modified Japanese car which is a shame.

Even on the kind of cars I like most, old Japanese stuff... the same applies. I like true JDM style cars so if it's modified it's gotta be right. Fat rims, bolt on flared arches, spoilers and fender mirrors are the tuner style of their day yet the same thing done to a Mk3 Ford Cortina was ,well ...Rice! But on the Japanese cars it loos oh-so-right. The same is true today. It's a matter of appropriate modification for the kind of car and I think Hiro's style is spot on.

Is this 1970's rice??.... NO! JDM style! :iceslolan :iceslolan

Exactly.

I am sad to hear the term "rice" being described JDM cars.

you know, as much as I dispise all honda's (because dumbasses buy civic h/b's and such but giant rims a loud exhuast, stickers of no such product in their car and think they're the shit) I actually like that S2k it's very appealing and sexy...ish looking??

11-16-2003, 01:00 PM
yesh, it's pure sex... btw, i saw the funniest thing yesterday on my way to my LHS to buy another kit...

there was this baby blue prelude with a nice body kit driving by, and i noticed how slowly he drove over a set of railroad tracks, "must be concerned about his exhaust" i thought, and we ended up following his frequent spurts of throttle... eventually, he went to turn into the parking lot of a hotel, now, our streets arent flat, so there was quite a dip before the ramp into the lot... he slowed down to about 2mph trying not to break his front bumper on the sidewalk, but broke it off anyway... it was hilarious... i wanted to stop the car and laugh at him, but i was desperately in need of a new kit (Mistu GTO)... just thought i'd share

Well, you know, that would suck no matter whether it was rice or not. (same reason I didn't buy a body kit (like the cusco sift car) for my corolla because I considered it.

It looks very good, Hiroboy, but there's one thing nagging at me.

On the rear bumper there are exhaust cutouts for two exhaust tips, but you only have one exhaust pipe on the car. I like the single exhaust. It's very appropriate for the car, but the empty second cutout is a little sloppy looking. Just my :2cents: I still wish I could turn out models as fast as you.

I think it looks great.....the single exhaust has a perfect street/race look.

Oh, I've got no problem with single exhaust. It's what the car should have as it is an inline engine car. It's just that the bumper has cutouts for a dual exhaust setup and it's my opinion that the cutout on the driver's side of the car should have been filled.
