I know that system pretty well. I have an old cross-fire system in storage that was swapped for a T.P.I. That system didn't last but a few years until the better performing T.P.I. came along.
My advice-- Swap in a Tuned Port system with the enlarged runners and do some good exhaust work. I have a T.P.I. manifold also, if you are interested. I have scematics, so I can compare the differences between the two. I think the Tuned Port can be wired into your existing harness with minimal work. One thing for sure, you'll have to replace the low pressure Cross-Fire fuel pump w/a higher pressure Tuned Port pump.--
Good luck,

you can use the cfi but it takes a lot of money. it ran the 1/4 in about 15 s. not exactly something a corvette would be proud of. converting would be a good idea but whether you keep it or not it'll cost you.

It's a lot less expensive to go with the X-Ram solution.

the xram works great, I got one on mine and with all the mods I used it put out like a dream, got rid of that horrid 4500 rpm topout and it gets up faster and smoother. such a shame gm put in the stock one because the cfi could of been much more popular even with the tpi being out.

Did you go with the 1.6 ratio rocker arms?

oh yes, those make such a huge difference. sad thing though is those brand new rockers didn't hold up long. one of my pushrods managed to shoot right through my rocker, thank god my heads and valves are ok but still....brand new and 3 weeks later boom!. it's fixed now but still I wonder. I got the rockers from xram, have you heard of them giving out like that? also I"m having my tb units bored and sleeved to 2.013 so I"ll post on how that works out. and for shifting, transgo has a great new shift kit for the 700r4 that is great!!!

I got those new tbi units bored and installed and the motor is now stroked to 383. with a new inline fuel pump, and fuel pressure regulator, tons of port and polishing, and a bit of laptop work with the ecu, my ride now pushes 490 hp at 6400 rpms!!!!!
