Someone is selling it for $2995 but it has 136,000 miles on it. How long can I expect to drive this car before it has any serious problems? I have a 95 Civic right now. It retails for 6,500 in the Kelly Blue Book, but could any Saab owners please tell me how long the car will last with that many miles on it?

It can probably last for a quite some time, but the cam/balanceshaft chains will probably need to be replaced at least within 30-60k miles. Will cost around $500 if you can fix it yourself, otherwise it will cost much more. Listen if the chain is making any noise.

It's important to check that the gearbox is in good condition (if it's manual), it's known for causing problems and that can cost some money to fix.

yeah, my late '96 900 s had a 5-speed and shifting into 3rd was a process. if I didn't do it very carefully it would grind like no tommorrow. But other then that I love the cars. You may have some trouble finding parts for some of them depending on where you live. but 3gs for that sounds like a pretty good deal.
