correct speedo and tach???

hello. i tried doin a search and found nothing, so im hoping you can help me out. i have a stock 92 plymouth laser rs (2.0). i was lookin at gauge faces and noticed that none of them have the same set up as mine. i am wondering if a previous owner replaced one or both with non correct units. can you please tell me what should come stock on that car.

it now has a tach that redlines at 7K and goes to 9K. the speedo goes in increments from 0, 10, 20 ,30 etc to 140 mph. all the gauge packages ive seen either have a same tach (for me) but a speedo that starts at 5 mph (and goes up 15, 25, 35, etc. to 145). or they have the correct speedo, but redline at 6K and go to 8K?

please tell me what i should have so i can get it back to stock. thank you in advance. :biggrin: :banghead:

I had the same problem. My redlines at 7k and maxed at 9k. And my speed went to 170 (I wish :iceslolan). So i used faces that had the same speed face, and for the rpm face i used ones that went by the same increments and it was the same face but the redline was 7500 rpm. So i just have to remember that the redline is 7k not 7500.

i was hoping that my set up was oe (that someone could confirm that). cuz then i could tell the gauge face makers to put one set together for me and i would not feel bad about it.

but your idea may be the way to go (if im reading what you did right).

no i was just saying that the redline was different in the aftermarket gauges so i just have to remember that my redline is less that the ones on the gauges...
and if you could post a picture of your gauges so i could see the interval then I will see if i can find any gauges that will fit for you.

im sorry guys. i didnt know you were asking for pics of my gauges. :confused: i dont have the capability to take a pic (im really retarded with computers). i tried searching the net for gauges like mine, but found none. this pic is kinda like mine, but the speedo is different. this speedo shows numbers for 5, 15, 25 mph etc. my speedo starts at 0. it then shows numbers 10, 20, 30 etc, up to 140 mph. the tachs are the same. im sorry, but this is the best i can do. i hope this link works for you. if not, let me know. thank you very much.

look at the pics of the white faces (not the pic at the top, it is not at all like mine). the ones to look at are the enlarged photo in the middle of the page. it shows them lit and unlit.
thank you again. i figured i would get some faces if i could find some cheap that didnt require needle removal. that is how all this got started. :biggrin:

i found this on ebay. i dont know how to actually copy the picture here, but this should be good for two more days. its a pic of my cluster. thank you for any and all help. i cant find gauge faces that look just like this.

yeah, thats what mine looks like (pics were requested, and that was the best i could do). easier to see than my description. :grinno:

so i guess that is a stock set up. i just cant find any gauge faces that look like that (im mainly checking ebay for cheapies). makes me wonder if they post the wrong pics or what eclipse they have in mind (or maybe eclipses had different gauges?????? anyone with a NT 90-94 (im a 92 laser NT, but those should be the same i think).

i wrote to one company asking if the pic was right and gave them a description of what i had, and they kinda blew me off, saying that what i had didnt look like the pic, dont get it.

no, actually Chris, i have that exact gauge pod. i just cant find any gauge faces (like reverse glows, etc) that are the same (they all have different redlines or different numbers [goin 5,10,15, etc instead of my 10,20,30]. so i thought that mine were mismatched, but apparently they arent. i just dont know if eclipses have different gauges (i have a plymouth laser). i just cant find any.
i have them on my mustang (no flames please. i love all cars for what they do. my stang has torque down low, my laser is fun to wind up and would handle better than the stang even if it were cornering on the disks (read:no wheels, tires. LOL). the laser is what i drive daily. and i like the gauge faces on the stang, so i wanted some for the laser (im thinking luminescent white faces rather than the reverse glows would be nice).
