HELP! Lost on engine swap

Ok, as of now I have a 95 GTI- vr6, and love it. Only problem is the body has small flaw's all over, (hail?) as well as the engine has 150,000+ miles on it. Ive been looking into things I could do. Ive decided to sell it, but am looking for another car. Il have another car to drive around (81 bmw 733) until I have a car, and will be selling the bmw for money towards this car

Ive decided to either

buy a old trans-am/firebird/ etc.
They sell them cheap, but parts are expensive, and not as reliable

The more likely route
buy a honda (maybe something else)
and get an engine swap
Later on, turbo it

Problem? Which engine do I buy, and what model do I put it in? I will be having help, as I have a friend that has already done this, and another that will be doing this soon. Please fill me in with suggestions. I should have around 3,000-3,500 to spend, along with money from the bmw later on. I like the engine swap, and after I sell the bmw, I have money to turbo it!

well your kinda all over the place here, if your gonna go honda get an older civic or crx 88-91yrs. then buy a b18a and turbo that, just those mods alone should put you into the low 14's.
