Im coming back from a party. Just chillin in my SiR. The last stop light before entering the highway comes up, red light. I look beside me. Holly shit!! A red Dodge Viper. Holly Shit!!!. The first viper ive seen in my 6 million people mexican city. Very very rare, they dont sell those here. The odds of that happening....very very slim. I swear, there wasnt anybody except an electron blue pearl SiR and a Red Viper in the stoplight. A late 30s man is driving the beast.
I prey to god that this guy would be stupid enough to race me. Light turns green, and he goes slow...I keep up at the same pace, were doing 40 mph and I hammer it in second. Vrooommm....I goooo....(Of course, he isnt racing) I slow down, were side by side doing 65 mph or so. I hammer it in 3rd. Guess what? He hammers it. ROARRRRRR....!!!!! The sound shit!!!!!....he flies by me, and pulls a cruise ship on me. I was so excited, this guy raced against a civic...I did beat him in one thing....in gasoline wasted, with that v10 he probably wasted 3 gallons or so, while my 1.6 wasted half a liter. Maybe this story may sound stupid to you guys but damn, first Viper I see in my city, in a stoplight alone with me, and he hammers it...that exciting for me.

i did the exact same thing about a year ago, i had my old engine in and the old guy didn't want to race so i blew by him at the first light but at the next stop sign we went at it, anyways i got a real GOOD look at his tailights.
i did it just to hear the exhaust rumble from the v10.
was well worth it.

well its a really mean sound compared to my buzzing b16a2, but honestly, i like the sound my engine makes, its a blender mixed with an f1 car and a lawnmower

There's no replacement for displacement

True
but still, the b16a2 can smack other bigger displacement engines such as the GM 2.2 VWs 2.0 Neon 2.0, basically most of the 4cyl naturally aspirated engines...it rocks being only 1595 cc

You're right. The B16, B18 and H22's are incredible engines for their displacement. Mostly because of their Redline limit and V-TEC. Also they're easy to work on and their reliability is high. The only downside is their lacking of torque. Oh well, they are still gread engines when NA and ever better when boosted.

Yeah there is a guy around here with a red and white striped Viper who likes to nail the gas a lot. He came up behind my buddies Contour, switches lanes and just nails it. My mouth dropped to the floor, those Vipers are so fucking fast. But quiet, most of the noise made by the car came from the engine than the through the stock exhaust.

The Viper's V-10 has a sound all it's own. Just like 4 cylinder will never sound like a V-8 and a Chevy will never sound like a Ford V-8 etc.., People are just use to one sound from fast American cars so when they don't here the classic V-8 sound your confused. The new Viper a lot of money was spent by Dodge to try to create that V-8 sound from the Viper. Point is it's not a bad sound just different and not what you expect.
