rpm acting weird

hi ppl, i just bought a 98 rs from auction and it had a damage in the front i fixed the damage and everything but when i try to start my car it starts but my rpm goes up and down its goes up to 3 or 4ooo and comes back and when i barely press the gas it goes all the way up to 5000. and it cames back down real slow. so what should i do? thanks

here check out this thread, it sounds like you could have the same problem or somthing close to it... i would suggest doin what my post states by putting starting fluid on the intake mainfold, here is the thread, i hope it helps you figure out whats wrong. peace

thanks buddy i was looking at my vacuum hoses and i found one of my vacuum hoses was broken and its the one that goes to the intake manifold, so thnaks alot and im sure that might be the problem
