Wiper Problems

Ok guys, kinda new here. I just got My '88 T/A Last week. Funny thing is, the damn wipers will only work on intermittent or low (and poorly even on that). If I put it on high it blows the fuse! I bought a new wiper motor today $65+$20-Core, and still the problem persists. Also, the wiper motor I bought didn't include the circut board that is bolted on the back of the motor. My feeling is that the problem is in there, but I can't find a replacement. Any ideas?

Try touching up the solder connections with a soldering gun. I got a couple of them going giong that way on GM trucks and Astro Vans (I guess they work on the same principle) I've also got some going running a separate ground wire to the wiper motor.I know Car Quest had rebuilt ones for the trucks. I had to go to the dealer for a few.

I took a good look at the solder joints on the board. None of them seem to be broken. I was thinking that one of the drive coils on the board might me shorted, in which case I would have to replace the board anyway. So, any idea where to get one?

Not alot of visitors to this forum, eh? I thought I would get a bit more poeple responding.
