I am disappointed in Dodge

the 2001 Viper ACR is my favorite Viper. I am not a big Viper fan, but that really caught my attention. Now I see that they are going the the 'peer pressure' and creating their 2003 RT-10 w/ sharp lines and a soft slouchy appearance. It doesn't looks as aggresive, and the design looks like it will go out of style w/in the next 2 years, if not already. anybody agree?

for not liking the sharp lines, you seem to be a big fan of the zonda... which i like too... but it will also go out of style quick..
i think that the viper is a bit more laid back, and w/ 500 hp, 500tq and 500ci... why complain...
i really could deal with the viper...
and i like the zonda...

the zonda's not sharp....
but I do love the sharpness on the GTS-R concept... no that IS a beautiful viper

actually, 1 reason why I like the Zonda is because it never will go out of style, they had the basic design in the 80's!

Personally i dont think there is such thing as a bad looking Viper, they have evolved and that may not be bad, eventually all cars take on a different look. But i really like the 2002 model, those are sharp as hell.
Peace....:D

The new Viper looks kinda like a Honda S2000. But I dun care, I like it. I like the older Vipers alot better though. I even scribbled a crappy pic of the new Viper for some reason....

The new Viper is kinda sweet, I love them bringing back sidepipes... but the hood opens from the front... I hate that. Gimme a 2001 GTS-R in pewter/black anyday.

I actually like the new design... it's something different. I think that those people who don't like the look of it now, may very well change their mind in the future. It may grow on you.

People didn't like the new looks of the RAM but that has grown on people like ghetto said.
I happen to like the looks of the new Viper.

You know thatthe first picture that you posted is not a Gen 3 Viper, right? It is a pic of a Gen 2 GTS with a Hennessey Aero kit on it.
Just an FYI.

What color is your Snake (hard to tell from the picture)? Do you have any other Hennessey mods? What do you think of what's happening to Hennessey?

V10 - I have no Viper... hence the "add spare change to my viper fund" in my sig. :-) Unfortunately, college and rent takes up most of my nonexistant cashflow for now.:bloated:

Hang in there with school and stay focused. The Viper will be in your garage before you know it. You just have to work your butt off and earn it. The best thing about owning this car is the fact that I don't owe anyone any money. It got paid off shortly after buying it.
Take care and happy new years.

I am the same way, at first I was impressed by the upped performance... but the design doesn't grab me. Then again, there are only about 5-10 cars EVER that I like the looks of. :-/

Hehe, thanks for the words of encouragement. I must have this car, and I know I will one day, hopefully soon. Even when I knew nothing about cars (not even brand names) I remember being like 9-10 years old and seeing the prototype Vipers on TV or in magazines back in '90-91 and thinking it was the coolest thing ever made.

Yo viper 10,
I may be an idiot, but how the hell do you get in the car... they are no door handles... Do you hit a button and it opens up enough to grab the side to open it or what? Sorry for the dumb question.

Ryan:
Not a dumb question at all. There are very small door handles on the black area on the trailing edge of the windows. They had to use eletrically controlled door locks because the doors were too small to fit mechanical ones in it.
No magic, just very inconspicuous.

Viper 10 - What kinda exhaust is that? Doesn't look stock.
Also, got any track times? I'm guessin' mid-low 12's at 120+....

My Snake is almost bone stock. All I have is K&N's and upgraded front brake calipers, rotors and SS lines. Personally I am not a drag racer, so I cannot provide any tmes for you. Stock Vipers on street tires regularly turn 12.0 (but good drivers that I personally know have turned 11.68's).
I am a road racer and I regularly attend track events at road racing venues. It is my opinion that it takes a bit more skill to get a car as powerful and torquey as a Viper around a road course. On the tracks that I venture onto, we are able to hit top speeds in the 160's down the front straight-aways. Wide turns can be taken in excess of 120 mph.
Different strokes for different folks. If you buy a Viper to drag race, it is my opinion that you are really wasting the Viper's original design charter. The rush sure lasts a lot longer than 12 seconds on a road course.

I agree with ViperV10, the big engine and sexy design are just ment for circuit racing. Plus the large engine makes it even more fun.
