i was wanting to put a H22 swap in my honda 3rd. i have went to a couple sites and they have said i was able to do that but its not street legal (which i don't give a shit its going on the street anyway) i was wondering if their would be a big weight problem with that bi of an engine in the front?

Yes there will be a major weight problem. First you need to get new shocks. The ones on your car hold 450lbs each and you need ones that hold 500 each. Youre handling will suck to be honest. Were did you find that it wouldnt be street legal. I have been thinking about puting one into my car. Im also the same i dont care if its not legal i dont live in ca or something. Yeah despite the fact that it will be really hard. It wil pay off like 10 folds in the end and you will be a major b16 azz kicker!!!!!

Why bother when you can B20 CR-VTEC and maintain a decent weight distribution?

While you're welding mounts and banging out the engine bay to make room, people with normal swaps will be lauging their azz off at you and your headaches.

One thing about swapping engines is dont let people make your decision. So thell be laughing their ass off at you when you banging to make your engine bay lager. But when you are finished the only thing they are going to be laughing at is nothing because youll leave their ass at the start line.

And you wont need to weld mounts as someone said you can purchase them online.

So if you are set on an h22 which is a good choice dont let some moron talk you out of it and talk you into getting a b16a like everyone else.

Follow your thoughts not other peoples big mouths

:werd: :iagree: Don't let people criticise (sp) you for wanting to be different. I've got this guy over in the JDM part of honda telling me to get rid of the D15B I just bought and put in a B16. If I wanted a B16 I woulda saved more and bought one. The point is be original not a bellybutton, because everyone has one.

Yeah just go for it! But a little advice make sure you get stronger axles they have a tendency to break. My boy's 93 hatch has snapped two sets already.

im pretty damn sure it wouldnt be illegal. Im no law detective person guy or nothin..but for what reason would that be illegal.. and i know the cop force isnt gonna start trainin' cops ta' distinguish engines apart from others.. 4th amendment still stands too. Lookin under the hood is same as searching your car.. and they need YOUR permission to do so unless they happen to just have a warrant for no reason at all. :screwy:

Thats because the axle geometry is off. WHat mounts is he using or is it all custom?

yea, be original. I dont know why yall people think b16's are so hot and fast. In nyc we laugh at fucking b16's ,u gotta come harder than that. Topend speed on them suck. Gen.1 sucks, Generation 2 kicks ass though, mostly eveyone on here have generation 1 b16.. SIZ i wish u could bring your car to nyc so it can get owned by a 88 accord with a gsr in it..IMO B16'S dont run

In the same place H22 EFs drive around on the street.

A h22a will fit in a EF alot of work to get it in right but it does fit !

The 3 major things youll have to do to be able to drive the thing though is 1) reweld the frame of the car to handel the extra force on the car 2) way biger breaks 3) custom spring rates and adj. shoks for the weight of the biger motor

But in all honesty at that point just put in a b18c5 thats been bulit up and your got the same price and more HP

I think a built type r swap will cost more than an h22 swap, ecspecially if you do it yourself.

It would be street legal, if it was legal in the prelude it came in it would be legal in your car; there isnt some magic rule that its legal in one and illegal in another. your car would be able to go strait very well, very fast, and very much faster than the car behind you with the gerble panting under the hood. in my opinion the h22a is one of the best engines ever produced.

oh, black91si, ill race you any day. true, there is no replacement for displacement but then again look at drag cars, small displacement running amazing times. and if you are trying to argue, you need practice. trashing a person isnt arguing its proving you're uneducated. its called ad hominem, thats latin, ever heard of it? look it up.
