Mine used a 12 mm allen wrench. Just get the allen wrench and find some kind of lever to get so torque on it, should work fine.

an allen wrench isnt a socket there bud :disappoin

Kvin002 -- if you have a socket set, just check threw it and try all your sockets so see if any of them fit, there is not a special socket just for this! a regular socket set with Metric sockets should work just fine... hope that helps.

I know an allen wrench isnt a socket. My head bolts were the allen wrench type, not the socket type.

Because of this:

"Does anyone know what kind of socket is used to take the head bolts out?? nobody seems to sell this socket anywhere"

He says what KIND of socket, not what size. And also that nobody sells it. I thought maybe he didnt realize that they were allen heads and was trying to find some wierd specialized socket.

Anyways, I was just trying to help.

People need to start to psot at least what year car they have when asking these questions. 1g will have an allen head cap screw, 10mm I believe. 2g will use regular sockets, 12 or 14mm. ARP head studs use a 12 point 14mm socket.

Why would anyone start a thread which asks a question but doesn't check the replies?

yeah well this is what happened....the head was rebuilt and i didnt know that.....so therefore the person that rebuilt it didnt reuse the head bolts so thats why i was all confused. BUt anyway i got the bolts off with external torx sockets.

Oh and by the way if i had to choose which car to get rid of i would choose my eclipse because its the biggest piece of shit just like the rest of them.

So instead of thanking us for trying to help, you decide to call all of our cars pieces of shit? I hope I just missunderstood ;) Look at the times in my sig, and you'll understand which car I'd rather have

like i said before, go back to your honduh forums, you and your honduh buddies will never see those numbers for the same price and time spent as kevin has!!!! get lost, go use your little nawwz bottles, and boost yourself out of this forum!

So the Honda guy decided to grace us with his presence. I feel blessed. Maybe I should thank the devil for that little give. O.K. kvin 002, you had your fun now get in your honda, put the pedal to the metal, and drive away really slowly while redlining and not burning rubber. And you better hope I don't chase you on foot and catch you.

who ever came up with the ideal to fix up a 90 hp car with no turbo and needs bottles just to keep up with are turbos has to be retard or something.

EclipseRST

bottles just to keep up...yea right!!! even with their bottles its like learning to walk for them when we are already runnin... there cars with nitrous cant compare to a stock eclipse GST if we were talking FWD cars!! GSX is just out of the picture, it would be 2-3 car lengths ahead before they would even get to use the nitrous! :iceslolan

Well, no need to get all riled up about it. I think he just took a previous post the wrong way. No big deal...

Hey everyone on this thread. I am sorry about the negative response I gave earlier in a previous reply. I reread all the posts and i misunderstood what was going on before.

With the cylinder head i never posted a reply because i figured out what kinda socket. We didn't realize it was a rebuilt head and the guy ended up using serenated bolts thats why i was all confused. So with all the misunderstanding, I thank you anyway for your help.

And yes i do own a 96 accord and a 92 eclipse. This thread was about the eclipse, i wouldn't post a honda question on a eclipse thread i am not that dumb. But hey for whoever said my honda had only 90 hp, please give me a little credit i got about 145 hp. It might not be as fast as your eclipses but it's running 145,000 miles and never needed anything big fixed. While on the under hand my eclipse just hit 107,000 and i need some cylinder head work. BUt anyway thanks everyone for your replys hope theres no hard feelings.
