FuelMaster install

I just bought a FuelMaster (magnetic thing that straps onto fuel line to improve combustion) and it is supposed to be installed onto the inbound fuel line as close to the carb. or fuel injectors as possible. I got under my car (1997 Cavalier) and was able to locate the fuel line and filter, but I wasn't able to trace it to the engine. Can anyone tell me where would be the best place to install the FuelMaster? I could install it right before the fuel filter, but I'm afraid that would be pointless. Any suggestions? Thanks!
