2000 Keyless Entry module on a 2001

since the 2001 remote can only be reprogram'd by a scan tool and the 2000 has the "no tool req"...i was wondering if i can install the 2000 module on my 2001...it looks the same, but i dont know if it'll work...this way, if i do get more remotes or lose one, i wont have to go thru the hassle of finding a dealer than wont charge too much.

No can't do it!! Look at the part numbers if they are the same than you stand a chance but I would not recommend it.
Afterall how many times do yuoo reprogram your remotes. Chances are you may do it once every 5 years!
