Well I didn't have shit to do so I thought, lets see what kind of hp numbers this thing can pull before I start my built motor. So I show up and there are a couple of stock mustangs and a modded trans am there. The mustangs already went and the trans am was on the rack. It made 328 hp just motor, and then 516 on the bottle. I was like holy shit! So then I'm up, they don't leave they decide to hang out and see what the "import" pulls. I'm like great, I am going to look like ass. First run 190hp, which is kinda what I expected being the motor has been bitchy lately. The guy shows mw the a/f ratio, its so rich its not even on the freaking chart!!! So I back off the fuel pressure and lean out the vafc. 2nd and 3rd run 239 hp, I gained 50 hp just by leaning that bitch out. The dyno guy was amazed as was the other guys there, especially since it was only on 9psi! It put down more power than the stock 5.0 was, I was stoked. So today I decided instead of building a low compression motor, I am going stock with some good headwork and lots of tuning. Gonna look into an good ems, now I am willing to spend $1500 on an ems. Sorry so long and jumbled, but I can't believe I have been driving a 190whp civic for a year and a half, when $60 would have gotten me 240whp. Since that is around 280ish at the crank, I'm not going to push it past that seeing that most people say a stock b16a can only take about 300-350hp.

Second run (peak) (http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/1/web/445000-445999/445776_8.jpg)

3rd run (http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/1/web/445000-445999/445776_9.jpg)

My only gripe was that as you can see, they had trouble getting a good rpm reading off my wires.

I hope it's not TOO lean now, detonation on 9psi at 8k rpms would be ugly. Are you sure it's going to be able to handle that boost safely now?

I richend the top end (not shown). Ideal a/f should be about 12:1. The graph plots 10:1 to about 17:1, I was so rich that I wasn't even on the chart on the base run (meaning richer than 10:1). My AF curve isn't perfected, but it stays between 11:1 to 13:1 so I am in good shape now. Like I said I made it a little fatter up top just to be safe.

9psi on stock greddy kit. I was impressed, the big 18g once spooled holds its boost and doesn't drop off until you shift. Of course the only thing unmodified to the kit now is the manifold and turbo itself, everything else has been replaced. Greddy is great, my only gripe with that is the kit is made for the stock 5.5-6psi setting. Once you want to go above that, all the other stuff must be addressed.

As soon as I get a chance, I am dying to bring it over there now. Plus I have to know what best time it can pull before I yank the motor.

LOL, apparently you don't read many magazines dude. I think it was HCI magazine did an article on a 700+hp Civic. It had a all-around built h22a pushing in the mid 20's psi. It was even street legal! Just goes to show what some money and good tuning knowledge will get ya

I believe this is a picture of it, couldn't find another engine shot like the one in the mag tho.

And here's an article talking about a 650+hp GSR and a 450+hp b16a
