My car has been making a loud screeching noise when turning the wheel after i first start it. THe wheel also fights back against turning the wheel. After driving a little the wheel seems to loosen up and the problem dissapears. There is no shortage of fluid. Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like the belt on your power steering pump is loose. Have you had someone turn the wheel while you listen where it comes from?
I would try tightening the belts and see if it kills it

Hey, what year and model is your Sentra? Mine is a 2003 Spec V and I have been having problems lately w/my steering also, but it only seems to occur randomly and I never know when it's going to do it. The most consistent symptoms it does is kinda groan and almost make a clunking noise when I turn it fully to the right, and usually when I back up but not always when I just back up. I told my dealership about it and they said they couldn't get it to do it for them (go fig, as usual) so they wouldn't fix it for me. I have 33,600 miles on it and my warranty is up at 36k miles, so if anyone can help me or knows what's wrong or how to fix this problem, I'd love your suggestions. Thanx!
