The temp gauge stopped working after the engine was degreased. I replaced the temp sending unit on top of the water pump, and it is still not working. I checked the back of the instrament cluster and all wires were intact and none were loose.
The engine overheating light tested ok. But I would still like a guage!
Please help me. It look like the guage wire runs through the onboard computer. Could this be the problem. I dont use the computer, so is there a way just to bypass it??
Thanks,
Jim

What does the gauge read? Does it read hot or cold, pegged out one way or the other or mid point? Does it change reading at all?
Need more info.

The guage reads cold all the time. It never moves.
