Little Help

We're lookin at a ,99 Blazer. Often when I start it up and drive it hesitates to shift to second gear. There is even a clunking noise and jerking every now and then. It's been doing it for about 3 months, so I thought if it were my transmission, it would have died by now. I could use any advice I can get. What could it be?

When is the last time you changed you filter and fluid in the tranny? It might be too far gone now to help much, check the fluid to see if it smells burnt or if it is really dark red or brownish. thats bad. Also depening on the clunck if it coisides with the transmision slipping then it might be the tranny like you said but if it happens when shifting in to drive or reverse then i would have a look at the u-joints, kinda of a long shot there but it is worth the look.
