A V8..... JK, but seriously me personally I would start with a torque converter(asuming its auto.), then get some nice 3.73 gears, or 4.10's if you dont ever get on the freeway. After that is taken care of personally I would do suspension work but if your only talking power here, then go for a nice intake set up, not just a filter but a whole intake. Then get a nice exhaust system on with some high flow cats maybe. I think the gears and stall will give you the best decrease in 1/4 mile times. Then the Intake and exhaust will give it the sound you need plus a few extra horse. If there is anything left over get some good tires or whatever. Save up and get a nice Nitrous set-up if you want. Look around and see what other people have done there V6's, so you can get an idea...

Yup. Start with a catback. I got my hands on an almost new 02' Z28 catback for under $100. Installed for $150 from a good muffler shop. High-flow cat is good, but realize our stock cats are not bad flow-wise. Next up is the intake. I'm about to order a Wisper Lid and K&N filter. Will run about $185. Then, it's gears and limited-slip. I'd get 3.73's unless you have to get 4.10's. This is a bit expensive. It is about $100 for the limited-slip, and $250 for the gears, new. It will be about $500 for the limited-slip, gears and installation together. Make sure you choose the right gears to buy, aka GM/MOTIVE gears, and have them installed by a good installer who has done many gear installs.

A good source is www.firebirdv6.com\

Happy modding.

Damn, the installation on my catback was $62 bucks, and I didn't know the guys at the Midas...
