gsr vs rs

heres the deal, there is this riced out, full body kit, rims, all those things, integra rs, the only engine mods he has are a racing clutch, headers, and a catback.... i have a gsr, non modded exterior on my regular 15 inch alloys, but a greddy catback and an aem cai.... i hear he talks alot of smack about how he could beat me, at first i was like no way man, but he talks so much im like if hes this confident maybe hes right, i just want to know what you guys think

you'll kick his ass 170hp vs 140hp (4th gen) i dont think his rice parts will give him enough to beat you:)

You should be able to smoke him unless you can't drive. He will pull on you at first but by the end of 2nd gear you will be ahead and puttin distance between you and him :biggrin:

Dude he's toast, don't even worry about it. You'll take him from a stop, and destroy him from a roll.

All that weight, static and rotational, will cancel out any advantage his LS might have had in the beggining.

just because his car looks fast doesn't mean it really is. stock vs. stock your gsr is faster with both good drivers, but now all he's adding is weight and a lot of bull. the win is all yours :thumbsup: .

youll rape him dude and it wont even be pretty......im guess in 1 to 2 car lenghts atleast

hrmmm...u won't SMOKE him, but u should pull him pretty well top-end.

1st and 2nd he's going to prolly have the lead (u'll be gaining back at the top of 2nd). after this tho, u should walk away from him.

from a 40 mph roll, he's going to jump u in 2nd, and then top of 3rd, u SHOULD pull back and beat him by quite a bit.

atleast this is how all my races in my gsr went w/ ls/gs/rs's

My experience with an LS (i have GS-R), he barely pulled on me in first, then raped him by about 3 cars. Don't sweat it.

Any advantage he might've had in 1st (maybe 2nd) is gone because of all that rice he tacked onto his car.

well what kinda rubber does he have wrap around his rims?

you realize that every 1 pound of wheel weight is equal to 8-10 lbs of static vehicle weight? his wheels probably weight at least 3 lbs more each, and his tires at least 2 lbs more each. multiply by 4 (4 wheels) and you get 20 then multiply by 10 and thats worth 200 lbs of weight. and every 10 lbs is worth about 1 hp. plus all his stupid body kit and crap. the GS-R has shorter gears for faster acceleration, 30 more hp, smaller wheels that'll spin up faster not even considering the weight difference, and v-tec.

i'm not gonna give an oppinion on who will win but it is fact that the right tires could in fact make a difference. tires may be the single most importand up grade you could have on ya tuner car.

run a geo metro with 155/70r13s, you can redline and drop the clutch and you'll get traction right away, upgrade your tires, they'll just weigh more and you will just get slower

and even on a civic, you wont have traction issues until you start modding. as far as autox'ing i couldnt agree with you more.

the question is not about a stock car. any integra is not slow as it is. and a gsr stock is strong enough to have a traction problem. and you can get aftermarket rims and tires that are actually lighter then stock.

i actually have 17 inch rims im my closet!? yes my closet because i bought these fuggin things thinking it would improve my handling and looks, boy was i wrong, i like the stock look much better and i had a significant loss in launch speeds, there in my closet so i can sell them as soon as spring rolls around 1300 down the drain, hopefully i can make some back

dont wanna sound rude or mean. but it sounds like you didnt know what you were buying you could have put that money towards wheels and tires that would improve your launch and corning. i donno what ya were thinking anyway.

I just put my stock steelies on last night for the long Winter and there really isn't that much difference from these and my heavy 17"s launchwise. I guess it picks up a tiny bit more, but cornering is absolutely horrible now relatively.
