How to install a mesh grill on a 91 LX?

Okay, I used to own an 88 Crx Si. I put a mesh grill on it with no problems. I still have the same mesh, but I am having a problem getting it set in on my 91 LX, should I just cut the inside plastic crap like I did on my CRX? Or is there another way of going about it?

You CAN shove the grill behind the plastic crap by slipping it from behind the bumper from the bottom, i think you need to take off a bolt, you know what i am talking about? Its the "flab"/skidplate of bumper under the car, thats how i was able to take my mesh grill in/out when I had it on my stock Si bumper.
