hell i want an LSD and only got like 80 horses i bet it would be quite a feat to get traction with a b16 w/o one. also my tires are shot. I say get LSD. but don't take it its bad for your mind.

I have a zc trans w/lsd, but, like Ami, have not yet put it on the road. It has to start first! However, if you want to do any serious racing, you'll want it. You'll hook up a ton better, get better launches, and that will mean better race times. so yes, i say, if you have the $$, get the lsd. you'll wish you had if you don't.

LSD tranny is teh goodness. :) I want one, I need one.

You should have one.
Its much better for handling and lanching, and just traction in general.

someone told me that the handling is worse because when doing a sharp turn it still works 50% on each tire instead of 40% and 60% like its suppose to.

I think you're right on the theory, but on a light car like the civic/crx, it won't affect you as much, cuz there's not as much pressure on the tires as there is on heavier cars... Never heard anyone complain about excess tire wear or anything before...

I got a chance to drive my buddy's '96 DX w/GSR motor/tranny. He had an lsd & the first thing I noticed (besides the fact that it was fast as hell) was almost zero torque steer. So add that to the list of pros!

I would get a lsd liek everyone else said if you have the money. I wish I had one. how do you tell if a tranny has lsd....can you see right through where the axles go in or will you see a bar in there? Sorry to change the topic, but if I ever decide to get one, I want to make sure I get it.

the guy at hmotorsonline told us if you see the bar it's not lsd. jer decided to look in his. he saw something but it wasn't a bar.

you can look for the lsd stamp outside on the case

I got mine by a fluke, and the motor importers all tell me that they've dried up. they're really about impossible to find now... if you look on http://www32.brinkster.com/tjshondas/ they tell you how to tell them apart...

i have a b16a with a LSD GSR tranny. you cant tell from the outside really since its an internal piece. traction wise there is no comparison, trust me, you want LSD. turning sharp around corners its awesome to have both tires gripping like crazy. go for it its plenty worth it. and besides, when you go and roast the tires its so much better and more impressive to leave two tracks than just a weak one legger. theres just something about seeing one wheel spinning hopelessly that makes me kinda sad inside...i just want to help it out ya know. poor non-lsd car...

I have a 88 dx hatch with 89 integra xsi b16a with lsd. The car handles so much better than my friends 91 si with b16a but no lsd. It takes turns so smooth and accelerates around turns with ease. definatly worth the 300 bucks ai paid for it. Its hard enough to launch with such a light car with b16a power, i cant imagin not having an lsd. I also have no torque steer whatsoever. And my 1st to 2nd shift, the car chirps a little and just grabbs and gos.
