Ok, I have it installed, but if I hook up the AFC to the Pressure signal (map sensor) It popes Up Code 3... and idles irraticaly.

If I don't hook it up... the motor runs fine... but the AFC portion is Useless it mearly a Apexi Vtec Controler... :uhoh:

I may have missed something in the setting or something... I tried to read the manual but that this is confusing as hell...

any help ?

Thanks

you have to set your maps in the settings

I started at -11 and worked myself to +2

if you get map errors lean out or dump more fuel...

I got everything working doing this...

make sure you set the sensor types corectly, it should work fine w/ it at 0 across the board.

I thought it was suppose to be 06 in and 06 out???

he saying Zero across the board for Fuel correction.

If I do that on mine I get a Map CEL... and everything is set properly... or so i'm told.

something is awry, the correction is of course the % + or - from you MAP reading, so maybe check you connections? You should HAVE to have it at 0 for it to run like it did before the install.

On mine I soldered it in and started the car and it was the exact same as before, same for every other install I have worked with.

for the AFC hack, you will want to set the VAFC at atleast -35% across the board, or else it will throw a check engine light at about 9psi or so.

Also, because of how the AFC hack advances your timing (on the principle of how it works... it scales your map to read from a different part of your mapping), you want to run as much boost as you can to be safe against detonation.

If you're not running boost, you should have no problem adjusting the percentages and NOT throwing a check engine light.

you did make sure you hooked up both input and output to the map sensor correct?

yeah i forgot to RE-hook up the MAP input and output wires from the re-install... was going turboedit before. but hey thanks a lot guys... i'm at 8 psi right now.... should i be fine with timing?

well i have the z6 head on the odd-0 wire harness so my a6 dizzy does NOT bolt right up i have to use 2 bolts... according to the center post of the head i'm pretty good for retarded timing....

do not rely on position of distributor. get a timing light. retard your base timing 2-3 degrees and run the hack.

btw, im running turboedit. Im personal friends with the creator Jason Parker. its an awesome utility combined with my batronix EEPROM burner.
