brakes

I just got done replacing the entire brake system on my 1971 camaro last night , started it up and backed it out of the garage(after properly bleeding all brakes-drums on back disk up front non power all around(too high cam lift)) and i can litterally put my foot on the brake as hard as i can, give it some gas and take off. Oringinally it only needed a new master cylinder, but i thought i should replace all of it since it is all original. New parts include:
-front lines(hard and soft)
-rear lines(soft line and hard axle line)
-master cylinder
-calipers
-rebuild kit for rear drums

all parts are from the Paddock and Master power escept for the calipers which i got referbished from a local shop. I have brakes, but they work worse than a car with manual drums all around. The pedal is hard, but the brakes don't operate correctly. I have a feeling it might be the proportioning valve, because when bleeding them, fluid came out the back faster then the front. Before spending more money, i would like to be sure what the problem is. ANY help is appreciated!

Check the plunger before the master cyllinder. It SHOULD be adjustable (if it's vaccuum assist). Try shortening or lengthening the plunger to see if it makes a difference. I had a 76 corvette that had a problem with the brakes. Front brakes would lock, but the rear wouldn't even start to brake. Screwed in the plunger and sho-nuff.. no more problems. If that doesn't help, then check the proportioning valve.

I knew about the plunger, thanks for that though, I just ordered a new proportioning valve from Master Power, if that doesn't work, it's a$1200 dollar system from Baer! lol.
