any of you guys taken your car to the paint shop just to have them primer it, how much did that cost you? i have $400 and i wanna get the car painted but i dont want a crappy job so im goin to just go ahead and get them to primer the car cuz its starting to get a lil rust here and there.

you should seriously do the primering yourself, you get experience from doing this. :) i know i have :thumbsup:

yea im probably going to do the sanding myself and just take it to the shop to have them spray the primer for me cuz i know ill mess that up with haveing to tape up the windows and other stuff.

Do it yourself unless there is major rust or body damage. Just take your time masking things off & you'll be fine. Do a couple coats of primer with sanding each coat with a finer wet/dry paper. If your planning on a nice paint job, you'll be happy you did the extra steps.

What color are gonna paint the car? If something dark, spary it with flat black primer.

yea ill probably just do it myself, what did you guys do about the gasket thing around the back side windows? does that just come out or did you just take your time and mask it?

I would just mask it all off. Use newspaper for the larger areas and then tape around the corners and shit. If you take your time you can doa rattlecan job that looks like it was done at a shop.

no, dont use rattle can
if you are going to primer it and drive around with primer atleast spray it
