Pretty controversial Andy Rooney quote

This has probably been posted before, more than once, but it was a first for me so prolly will be for others too. For those of you that don't know Andy Rooney, he is a US TV commentator on 60 Minutes.

I like big cars, big boats, big motorcycles, big houses and big
campfires.

I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some
governmental stooge with a bad comb-over who wants to give it away
to crack addicts for squirting out babies.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You
can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to
ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason; that is why there
are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it
is an opinion.

I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except
numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory
are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black
Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things
like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White
Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens.
Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.. I have the right "NOT"
to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70%
of the population is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the Law
of Probability.

I know what sex is, and there are not varying degrees of it. If I
received sex from one of my subordinates in my office, it wouldn't be a
private matter or my personal business. I would be "FIRED" immediately!

I believe that if you are selling me a milk shake, a pack of cigarettes,
a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of
fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak
English! My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave
the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry self if
you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand
the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines.

I feel much safer letting a machine with no political affiliation
recount votes when needed. I know what the definition of lying is.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are
qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank
loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket
store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives
in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come
over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to
their interpretations.

I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor. I know pro wrestling is
fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from
watching them.

I believe a self-righteous liberal or conservative with a cause is more
dangerous than a Hell's Angel with an attitude.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and
continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next
operating system that's better, and put your name on the building. Ask

I agree with most of that. I especially like this quote calling out Mrs. Burke, the stupid bitch.

The guy oversimplifies things, but he's right about pretty much everything up and down the line with those comments.

I 100% agree with those quotes and honestly wish I could listen to more of what he has to say. It may be an oversimplification, but nobody will give it to you that bull-shit free. I wish there were more peopel liek him out there.

We have tree-hugging sissies here too,and people like Mr Rooney.As a 'New Zealander by choice',I get a bit touchy on the issue of immigration.One of the reasons that I find comments direcyed at immigrants distasteful is that people often only treat those from vastly different cultures in this manner.Many a time I have had to put up with the ignorance of people born into this country.At work,there are many ill-educated and slow-witted fools who like to complain about the number of Asians who are buying into the Kiwi lifestyle.Once the morons start their mantra about how bad the Asians are,how you can't find a dairy[convenience store] or takeaway shop ,that isn't run by Asians,they quickly get on to talk of sending the immigrants home....That's when I start getting wild.There have been Asian merchants in New Zealand for Generations,and they often have more claim on New Zealand citizenship than the brokenasses that whine about them.Anybody who talks about sending people back to their country of birth is including me in their ignorant ranting.

The whole thing with folks that can't speak English is one thing. I agree that if you're in a job where you have to interact with other people, you damn well better be able to understand them and have them understand you. I don't live in Texas, but I did visit a time or two, and it struck me as though some of the folks I encountered had crossed the border that morning.

As for the black folks issue: such behavior isn't restricted to folks of that skin color. I've dealt with people of every shade that felt like they were superior to everyone else, or that they were somehow entitled to things that other folks weren't. I'm a firm believer such things as "minority affairs" make no sense at all. If groups want equality so bad, why in hell do they make up a seperate group for themselves, and expect it to get preferential treatment?

We all bleed red in the end, and that makes nobody better than anyone else regardless of their shade of color. Attitudes need to change in that regard, big time.

Being from Houston, I understand what v6stang is saying. However, I agree with 'Naki. It does irritate me when I can't understand what they are saying, but growing up with me has helped keep a blind eye to it and not think about it.

As for what was said about blacks. I've had black friends(if you want to say that, their just my friends to me) all my life. If you did know and were friends with blacks then you would understand about calling each other 'nigga' . If theyre friends with you, no matter what race you are, you start saying 'nigga' too. Now you can't be like "whats up n---er", b/c that would be offensive. I do disagree with the NAACP and Rainbow Coallitions steps to attempt to gain prosperity by false pretenses.

Thats ridiculous. Giving drivers licenses to illegals is like giving a car to a drunk....an accident waiting to happen. Okay, I gotta jump in on thins one: This is America. The land of the Free. The home of the Brave. We built this country on freedom; this country stands on freedom. I value it so much that I joined the United States Air Force to do my part. I didn't just joined for the benefits. While riding with my brother, he had a neon license plate frame and got stopped for it. Okay, a fix it tickey, right? NO. How about a felony stop, me and my brother pulled out of the car at gunpoint, slammed on the ground and handcuffed while the cops search and find nothing. Racism is here, sometimes it's hidden, sometimes not. As a black guy serving in the military (it's bull when people ask why I serve a country that allegedly hates me. The USA doesn't hate anybody except for those who threaten freedom.) I want to slap people when they tell me that the USA 'oppresses' me and my people. Altohugh I have descriminated against, I know that is one person in a world of 6 billion that has a different opinion than me. I don't think I deserve a special parking space. As long as I can get one and there's no signs that say 'whites only' and 'coloreds only' I don't see a problem. Mr. Rooney is just stating his opinion; he's entitled to that. Just because I don't agree with it doesn't mean I'm a nigger. All it means is that i have a different opinion. And that's what the U.S. is about; and that is why I defend it.
