if you think all that stuff adds upto only 10lbs you got a lot to learn. a fully gutted crx with the 1.5L motor can run 14's with no other mods, cuz ive seen it done.

try running 14's without doing that on a stock motor, good luck.

You dumb noob how do you think Hondas are so fast with so little power? WEIGHT. Take even more weight away from an already light car, and track times drastically lower. When I had nitrous on my DX I ran a 15.7. I took out the passenger seat, rear seat, sub box, spare tire, and ran a 14.9 with the same great launch, same shifting, same 55hp shot, and same lunky 17" rims with the same tires. And no, it's not only a 10lb savings.

why do I get the feeling type r pistons won't work that well with a turbo? oh yeah... they are high compression pistons!! would they even fit a b20 with the larger bore size of the b20 i kind of doubt it

i had some kind of big weird whistling sound that had a big pitch in about the same area. i would get that noise and then my idle would drop really low and then my b16 would eventually die out. it actually turned out that it was the idle screw or whatever. it wasnt set to the right position or whatever, but after adjusting that the noise went away and my car drives fine now. maybe that may be your problem.

I live on the west coast, lol. There are tuners, mostly anywhere you go. Oh course some area's have more than others. Really though, I think it's about quality over quantity. I don't know, I mean, there are ton's of people into the sceen out here in Portland, but sometimes I wish there were less. With the increase in tuners, also comes the increase in the cars that are just a joke; the people that do it to be "cool," not because they truely are an enthusiast. Oh course, that can exist anywhere you go, so it's a moot point, lol. There are tuners in Ohio though, Ricochet is in Ohio, Columbus I believe. Anyways, I'm glad to welcome you here. It's always nice to see new enthusiasts join:bigthumb:, versus people who join and just start trouble.

to ricochet...you are right, there are tuners out here in ohio (i think you said you are from westerville...i live in pataskala) but 75% of them are jokes who are driving joke cars. no one out here even knows what a dyno is let alone even think about putting their car on one (besides passen which is a good shop). sorry i am bitter. you and i are also helping change that. lets keep on keepin on!!

to eckoman...i attend school with a kid from oceanside, ca. and your analysis of the tuners on the west coast is exactly what he preaches. dedication is all that it takes. dedication = money and money = a nice car (if youre not too proud to ask for help!!) anyway you are right and i agree less would be good but in the same respect, less tuners would drive the cost of parts and mods up (if thats even possible). simple supply and demand (ha ha, me putting my business major to work).

to crxlvr...i didnt say that i didnt want to live on the east coast either. ny does have a great scene from what i hear. its just this midwest mentality that to go fast and look good youve gotta drive a 4000 pound hunk of metal thats 30+ years old. and theres nothing wrong with that, classics are great in their own respect but you see those in ny and califonia WITH imports. theres nothing like the sound of a 426 hemi in a 71 baracuda with a chunky idle and enough torque to corkscrew an integra beyond recognition, BUT theres something about my H22A4 reving up just past 7600rpm's into a smooth gear change and feeling the vtec kick in...ahhh, im going for a drive...

The supply and demand thing is a concern, but if there were less car's that were jokes, then there might be less junk out there as product. All these companies like APC and Ractive really took off and expanded there line-up after the import boom hit. I would gladly pay a little more if it ment less junk out there and more quality in the products. It's gotta so bad out here, I call them "cookie cutter" cars. Sure, they might not be stock anymore (some are more stock than others, lol), but they all seem to look the same. Same exact things, and styles, down to the shapes and colors of products they get. It's not really indivduality at that point, it's "modding to be cool." Hence half the stuff you see is like a cookie cutter, it's mostly the same. Don't get me wrong, there are good cars out there, with real mods. But all that cookie cutter stuff you see just gets annoying, ya know? Then you actually try to talk cars to them, and they're like "huh?" It's like you said, jokes driving jokes. And all those jokes they drive look the exact same, from the style and color the the rims to the exhaust (or chopped off muffler with a tip welded on, lol) and tailpipe. No need to apolgize for being bitter. It's understandable, lol. Like you said, we're all here to change that (helping people have a clue)!!!!

Hey I know this post is really old, but I was just reading through it and I noticed what you planned to do with your swap. I live down in Salem and I have an 89 crx that I am planning on putting a c5 into. Not dead set on it yet but most likely I will. I assume that you've finished your swap? I am curious which motor you went with and how you like it.
