This is what I have been working on for about a week while I rest up from working on my chopper project. It' made by Revell and I must say it is one of their most finest kits.

Nice! Looks like you corrected the hood fitment problem! I have one of these convertibles planned for myself in a few months.

Thanks for the compliments. The color is Duplicolor DSGM348 General Motors Light Blue mett. The pictures really doesn't do it justice. It's more like a silver/blue color. I'll try to get more pics up later.

Yeah, I added .010 shims along the sides of the underside of the hood. :sunglasse

I went the shop yesterday to get a hard top, but all they had were convertibles, and lots of them. How frustrating is that?

Thats always my luck also, then I buy something else and when I don't have money I find the one I originally wanted.

how'd you do that?

Careful work with a Dremel on low speed with a grinding bit, small flat file, sharp X-Acto blade, and a toothpick(had steak for supper...hehe).

I did that, kinda on my lamborghini diablo, when opening up the wheel vents, but I got one side perfect and fudged the other side up, btw, I used a cutting blade, circle thing.

The trick is to remove material from behind until you either open up the vents or grill or until you can you can easily cut through it with a knife.

More progress. :sunglasse
Engine is assembled and mounted onto the frame. Kit distributor is drilled out and wired up to the correct fireing order(the stray wire goes to the coil).

You sure this isn't color changing paint? Sure looks like the body is green and purple in some places.
