My R32 is about 100kgs heavier than an EVOIII. As far as nearly the same hp there is about 30-35hp difference from the cars. Generally I'm about .15 sec quicker in the 60' times. You also have to take in account I've got much longer gears, where I shift twice they are nearly winding third out already. I'm only in 4th gear for a very short period of time, as my third gear goes to 102mph.

not tryna be an ass or anything but, i though it would be more than that, my car in third goes all the way to 120mph, are you sure its only 102 in 3rd, or is 3rd shorter than the 1st two?

1st - 65km (40mph)
2nd - 125km (77mph)
3rd - 165km (102.5mp)
4th - 225km (139mph)
5ht - 285km (177mph)
these are to the 8,000rpm rev cut I've had put on instead of the factory 8,250.

your talking about 1500kg ish v 1190kg for evo3 rs.

Thats standard weight so u must of done some stripping for only to be 100kg heavier.

Evo3's are in 11's with the power your running :)

also on the mlr forum a evo6 which is heavier than a 3 has run a 11.9 with just 426bhp

My mates EVO II on a weight bridge scale tips it at 1,388, while I'm just on 1,500 with a full tank of petrol.
Getting an 11.9 is about where it should be give or take a bit on a good track. Unfortuneatly our local drag stip, Meremere is hardly ever in good race condtion unless there is a national event of some kind when they decide to properlly prep it, so no arguement there.

As far as me taking anything out of my car, the only thing I take out is the small emergency spare tyre from the boot. The rest of the car is the way it came off the assembly line at Nissan.

Official Evo 3 weight is 1260kg for a gsr and 1180/1190 kg for an rs.

Nothing that I am aware of. I think these manufacturers claim the weight without any fuel, oils etc in other words complete dry. Also his isn't the RS but the GSR Evo II.

Nissan claims the R32 GTR at 1,460kgs so seems that is without much fuel not sure.

Vince just something on the Supra and it's questionable output- back in the mid 90's when I was an exciteable teen I remember the Supra Twin Turbo Mk IV being released onto the market with Toyota quoting the power a 243 Kw- the gentlemans agreement is about 207 Kw- so the car goes well above that agreement- so that is more or less proof enough, I was actually readng through the March 1995 issue of "New Zealand Car" this morning when I read that (NZ Car=the half of Autocar that merged with Autonews in 1996) and found the beast in the new car pricing lists- kind of shocking to see the car retailing at $165,000!!!!! The GTR R34 was about $120,000 when new, hell even an MR2 was about $80,500 back in those days

True Jim, but I've yet to see one produce it on a dyno. While I should say it isn't impossible as a better choice of words.

There are three MK IV Supra's I am using as examples. All three threw from 168kw-184kw at the wheels depending on the amount of boost they dialed in. Right about the same as my R32, but they suffer less driveline loss being 2wd. Two had big bores "jasma" badged, and pods while the other even had a massive front mount of 300x600x120.

Grant it they were not absolutely bog standard. In the calculations we use for that dyno it would put them around the 295hp mark which would be right for those mods.
