Tamiya Hayabusa kit,
Colour scheme was inspired by the Bentley Le Mans win this year.
Green is Modeller's British Racing Green, Light gold is Puegeot Aztec Gold.
Only Modifications are:
Drilled Brake disks, Braided brake hoses front & rear, Carbon fibre IXIL end cans, Carbon fibre fuel cap and all cables replaced with thin wire.

Any comments please.

Paul.

:iceslolan Im loving this, Hayabusa is my favourite bike, there was a beutiful one in town, (there is a small riding group around here a Ninja ZX12 and a hayabusa) the hayabusa had amazing looking blue metallic paint, but it was involved in a fatal accident, he lost control in a turn and hit a rock face, his estimated speed was +240KmPH....

Anyways, how was this kit to build? i found one at a hobby shop, but havent built any bikes yet, is it much different than a car?

If you havent tried a bike kit yet, then the Tamiya Ninja ZX12R or CBR1100 Blackbird would be better first time kits. The Hayabusa is a great kit that goes together well (as all Tamiya kits do) but the masking on the paint scheme can be a bit tricky.

I try to alternate between cars & bikes, I find it makes things more satisfying.

Try a bike kit, you wont regret it.

Tamiya supply masks for the fairing design, but it is on one sheet and you have to cut it out yourself. The gold is sprayed first, masks applied, then the green sprayed on. Clearcoat was then applied, when this was dry, it was polished then decals applied.

Chris,
The hose came from the now Defunct "Marshal Auto supplies". The hose is cut to a slightly longer length as indicated in the Tamiya instructions, cut then drill out the original mounting pins, a small amount of superglue is placed on the end of the hose and inserted into the pre-drilled hole.
I then touch up with a bit a chrome paint followed by a bit of clear blue/red on the banjo joints, et voila!
