I am wondering! Is it that you ALWAYS HAVE TO USE PRIMER?
Even when the car is a certain color? Primer is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY?
I await your response:smokin:

Primer is needed especially when you use metalics, thin paint, candy paint or any translucents. Primer is also needed when you are covering a color molded plastic with intent to paint it another color. Further, primer is used for paint adhesion, so in short, it is ALWAYS better to use primer than not to use primer.

Hope that helps.

Paints are somewhat translucent, except black and very dark colors, so they're usually affected by the underlying material and its color.
Primer can seal the cheap look of plastic, and add a metal like solid feeling. The difference is unnoticeable in photos on the web, but it's noticeable in person. It's your choice, but I recommend using primer.
