Well im planning on getting a 01-02 330Ci 5MT sport. Im gonna put about $2000 into mods. After looking into mods it seems like theres not to much you can do to the engine for any real noticeable gain(correct me if im wrong). So they next obvious thing to do is suspension. After reading a recent C&D they tested a Dinan S2-M3. What they really remarked on was the handling(.96 lat g's compared to .84-.87 stock)( http://dinancars.com/default.htm ). So i was wondering if i were to put the 330Ci stage 3 suspension kit on(about $2100), would i get similiar results? What would the ride be like? Are there any other things i could do to make it handle better? Any other brand options? Oh yea id also prob put on some S-03's.
P.S.- Im still having trouble finding such things as which manual options(5 or 6 speed?) were there on the 01-03's

Well im planning on road course racing/auto-x my car(on occasional weekends), but i do drive "spiritedly" during the week but i do not want to stiff of a ride. I think that the adjustable sway bar and shocks that come in the dinan stage 2 suspension would probably suit me best(and i can make it stage 3 later on for $250). Or is it to stiff?
But i think that with that package($1857) you mainly paying for the Dinan name. Could i do a simliliar set up thats just as good for less?

Well I got an 2001 330Ci today black/gray 5MT. I love the car and i should pick it up wednesday. They just put some new continentals on and they seem to be decent tires so i think ill just wear this first pair out and for now do suspension mix and match. I was amazed with how well the car handled stock and cant wait to make it even better and do an autocross.road course event in it.
So if i mix and match suspension what do u think about buying the 1 degree negative camber plates dinan offers for $250. Supposedly they help alot with turn in repsonse.
And heres the car, i dunno if this is gonna work but if it doesnt go to used cars and the enter used/bmw/3 series/330Ci http://www.johnrobertsbmw.com/en_US/
P.S.- not all the things listed on that page are correct such as the tires(theyre bigger) and the leather(its not leatherette).

Suspension mods are only necessary when you have more power under the hood. If I were you, for $2K I'd get a chip, a pulley upgrade and a cold-air intake and custom exhaust. Worry about suspension and handling later when you have more money to put into the motor.
